The board is woven as double cloth with the same linen and white /black squares of glass were inserted as the weaving progressed.
(The intention was to display it lit from below).
The glass has given the board a really good, firm surface on which to play.
The pieces have been treated, first with a hardener then with a clear protective coating. It is eminently playable with.
It has its own purpose made Perspex display box. It is completely unique.
